Abor Networks is a software and security company founded in 2000 in Burlington, Massachusetts. They are an established brand in the DDoS mitigation space, providing both a cloud-based service of their own, and also selling their hardware and software to many of their competitors including Cisco, IBM, Juniper Networks, and over 300 other service providers.
As of 2015, Arbor is now part of NetScout Systems. In addition to their headquarters in Massachusetts, they also have offices in Michigan, London, and Singapore.
Arbor offers both on premise and cloud-based DDoS mitigation services. Arbor Cloud consists of 4 scrubbing centers located in Ashburn, San Jose, Amsterdam, and Singapore with a scrubbing capacity of over 1Tbps with plans to exceed 2Tbps in 2016. Their hybrid model offers always-on protection where the on premise device analyzes traffic and then can either automatically or manually signal to the cloud and reroute traffic when an attack is detected.
Arbor Networks Pricing
Arbor offers a number of service delivery options depending on how much clean traffic you need and how many mitigations per year. Arbor Cloud Connect provides standby mitigation support in the event of an attack while Arbor Cloud Essentials+ offers unlimited real-time mitigation support. All plans are billed monthly with no setup fees.
Abor is the most widely used security software among ISPs for a reason. They are an established expert in the security space and are trusted by nearly every major provider on the market.
Their hybrid model seamlessly integrates on premise and cloud-based protection by allowing the two to communicate, thereby accelerating DDoS attack detection and mitigation. This provides some of the best protection you can get against both “low and slow” application layer attacks as well as high volume flood attacks, while still allowing businesses to maintain control over their mitigation strategy via the on premise solution.
