Armor, Inc (formerly known as FireHost) is a cloud computing and security provider founded in 2009 in Texas, USA. They are focused exclusively on clients with data security or compliance requirements, primarily in financial services, payment processing, retail, and healthcare.
FireHost launched its public cloud in 2011 and later went on to raise almost $60 million in funding. In 2015, they formed a partnership with Dell which allowed them to start selling FireHost’s private cloud to their customers. Later in 2015 they changed their name from Firehost to Armor in an attempt to brand themselves more as a dedicated security offering.
Armor offers security-as-a-service and compliance-as-a-service to help businesses achieve PCI and other regulatory requirements, along with public and private cloud services.
Armor currently has 5 data centers around the world located in Dallas, Phoenix, London, Amsterdam, and Singapore. This should cover most businesses operating out of the US, Europe, and SE Asia.
Pricing & Contract Terms
Armor pricing is all custom and they do not share pricing publicly. You’ll need to contact a sales representative for a quote depending on what services you need.
Armor has 2 main platforms; Armor Complete and Armor Everywhere. Armor Complete is their own secure virtual private cloud operated out of their 5 global data centers. This is fully managed by security experts who monitor, manage, and optimize your environment 24/7 to stop threats and keep you compliant with PCI, HIPAA, and other compliance requirements. Armor Anywhere is their managed security solution for external public clouds. They are partnered with all the big players including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, and IBM SoftLayer as well as private and hybrid clouds.
